The most famous landmark in Lucca Italy is Lucca's gorgeous cathedral which is called the Duomo di San Martino. Construction of the cathedral began in the 12th century, after the adjacent bell tower (Campanile) had been erected.
The Duomo in Lucca contains carvings by Nicola Pisano, paintings by Tintoretto and some beautiful Romanesque sculptures.
